My wife Debbie, and I were standing on the boat dock of our beach house rental, just taking in the beautiful sunset  and watching the fish jump. A great end to a gorgeous day on Pawleys Island, when out the corner of my eye, I noticed this magnificent creature, partially hidden in the reeds, not fifteen feet away. Not wanting to miss the shot I gently elbowed Debbie out of the way, and as soon as I did , the Great Egret began to beat a retreat. I blasted of five or six shots and this is my favorite. Debbie was a little peeved, but I had a split second to react to get the shot and after all, all is fair in love and photography. I apologized of course and she forgave me, and we still love each other and thats all that matters. Just don’t get between me and my shot, just a friendly reminder.
