Shot in 2002 from the south rim, I love this image of the lady in the hat, standing there hands on hips, admiring the view. The texture on her jacket and her hat. The Grand Canyon is so difficult to truly capture because it is so immense. There isn’t a lens wide enough to fully take in it’s awesome beauty. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting there are no great images of the Grand Canyon, because there are, and Ansel Adams took most of them, and I not suggesting this an awesome shot of the Grand Canyon either because it’s not. What I am saying is this captures the feeling you have standing close to edge taking in the view, plus it has a certain timeless quality to it, which I like.
